Psalm 139:7// Where shall I go from Your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from Your presence?
God is everywhere. He is present right beside you. He is not far from you, but close – waiting to be invited INSIDE. He is everywhere, we just cannot see Him with our eyes.
John 1:16-18 “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you”.
Jesus said this. He promised the Holy Spirit would be sent to Those who believe in Him, to be with them forever. Then He says HE (Jesus) will not leave us but will come to us. Through the Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ is always present to you, though you cannot see Him.
2 Corinthians 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
We cannot see Jesus, but He remains with us, and when everything else fails, He shall remain.
On the other hand, what you DO see now will all pass away…
Close your eyes. What do you see? Nothing. Yet, there is still something there, isn’t there? When you sit alone in the dark and cannot see anything, there still remains part of you which is unseen – your inner character, desires, thoughts.
Here’s the question: Are these such that shall be able to endure for eternity? When the flames of God cleanse the earth from all corruption, will my inner man endure? Sin leads to death (Rom 6:23), so all sinful thoughts or attitudes will not endure forever. And “ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Rom 3:23).
Alone in the inner darkness, are we left as a timid child, fearing what lurks unseen?
Psalms 139:12 even the darkness is not dark to You; the night is bright as the day, for darkness is as light with You.
The inner darkness of my heart is not hidden from God. Even in your inner blackness, Jesus is still near.
John 1:4,5 (ESV) In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
In the midst of your darkness, there is a Light that can shine, the same Light that created life out of nothingness. His name is Jesus Christ. He hasn’t forsaken you in your darkness. He is still near to you, and He wants to dwell IN you. If you ask Him to, He will step into your darkness and His light will dispel the night. If you ask, He will remove all the sinful things that cannot remain. He will create in you a NEW heart. Genesis 1:3 // And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it
Now – close your eyes again. What remains? May it be only Jesus.
1 John 1:5 This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all….Friends, this world is coming to a close. In order to stand in the presence of a Holy God, it will not matter what you look like, which brands you wear, what haircut you have, what car you drive, or what phone you use. What will matter is the state of your heart. Any impurity there is will mean destruction. Well should we fear and tremble at the thought, if we have any true sense of our selves! But thank God He has provided the way for us to be cleansed from all impurities! We can be sorry for our sins, confess them to God and turn away from them in heart, inviting Jesus to come in and make us new (according to His PROMISE – Ezekiel 36:26). When we come to Jesus and seek purity of heart, He cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:9&7). Then, since self has been destroyed, what is left but Jesus? Then our inner thoughts will all be about Jesus (2 Cor 10:5), and by continually looking to Him, DAY BY DAY, we will become more and more like Him – until self is fully consumed and only Jesus remains (2 Cor 3:18). It will actually be HIM that lives in us! (Gal 2:20). Then we need not fear to stand before a Holy God.
And now, little children, abide in Him; that, when He shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before Him at His coming. -1 John 2:28.
May we neither ignore that little voice prompting us that things need to change in our life, nor try to change it ourselves. Let’s call on Jesus to do His re-creation in us, for He IS the Creator. That’s His job. And He always does GOOD work.I pray this is/ will be your experience. Please pray for me also!
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
